Day of Atonement

Day of Atonement

Greetings ,

I pray on this day, the Day of Atonement, that you will take the time to reflect on the great salvation that we have from the Father. In the Old Covenant, the fear of not being excepted was real. However, we have more than the blood of goats and bulls. The very Blood of Jesus far surpasses the blood of animals. Perfect in life and sacrifice, Jesus died and rose for our salvation. Think of these scriptures.

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Gal 2:20

And this one:

And it shall come to passThat whoever calls on the name of the LORD, Shall be saved.’  Acts 2:21

And here:

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:14-17

The Father has provided for us a sure pathway. We are to follow that path, and the joy of salvation will continually flood our hearts. Since this is a day of repentance and reflection, I would like to remind you of some other Scriptures. These are a little more in our face reminding us, not that salvation is fragile, but that the enemy looks for a crack to wedge into us his lies and deception.

Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, while it is said:

“Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.” Heb. 3:12-15

We have this promise from God, our Father.

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Cor. 10:13

On this day, as always, we should run to the throne of our Father and Savior. Here, we will receive our daily portion of Grace and Mercy to make it through and to prosper.

Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it]. Hebrews 4:16 Amplified Bible

The blood of Jesus has cleared a path for us and made our journey sure in Him. Without hesitation or fear, we can come to Him at any minute or moment we need. He is already there waiting for you and me to come. Today, take a moment and reflect on this great gift of redemption and salvation. Confess your failures and sins to Him, knowing that he will cleanse you in His own blood. Jesus died for us, but even more rose to be seated on high. Forever making intercession for us, He is for you, not against you.

I pray that this day brings you closer to the Lord and Savior. May He,

Bless you and keep you, may His face shine upon you, may He be gracious to you, may He lift up His countenance upon you, may He grant you peace.

With love,

Louis
