Bookings are open for the 2024 CYA Conference, and by the looks of it, you’ve all been eagerly waiting for this.

Conference and dinner

CYA Conference will be moving into the Brisbane CBD next year and will be held at Royal on the Park. The reason behind the move is, to have the accommodation, conference and bootcamps all under one roof.

If you want to join us and stay at the hotel, they are offering a 15% discount if booked via their website www.royalonthepark.com.au. Use the code group15 which is valid for bookings from 4-8 July inclusive. If you’re coming from out of town, you can add a couple of days pre and post the conference.

There is a parking fee per car overnight if you are driving into the city. Book your parking at the same time you book your hotel room.

There is a parking fee for day parking if you are attending the conference too.

The 2024 conference dates are

6th July – IN-PERSON Conference Day 1 at Royal on the Park, Brisbane. This will be streamed to everyone of all genres ONLINE.
6th July – IN-PERSON Networking Dinner
13th and 14th July – Online Conference Day 2 and 3 for all genres.

Early bird tickets are available until the 31st December, 2023

Book an assessment

Assessments

Assessments will be online again in 2024 with 19 editors and agents already signed up and open bookings.

Dates for the Assessments are all on Zoom:

Online: 29th & 30th of June
Online: 13th & 14th of July

Remember you can book your assessment before your conference ticket or bootcamp, but in doing that, you have to agree to the commitment to purchase your conference or bootcamp ticket later, or you can lose the assessment place. The rule has always been only conference or bootcamp attendees can attend assessment appointments.

Payment plans

Payment plans are once again available for full-price tickets, bootcamps, and assessments.

Plans for the online bootcamps need to be finalised by the 29th February 2024.

All other plans need to be paid up by the 15th June 2024.

There is no payment plan for the early bird tickets.

Competitions

The competitions will open in early January, and we will let you know as soon as you can start entering.

Writers at Sea 2024

We had to fantastic writing retreats this year and plans are well underway for the 2024 retreat, which will be from the 8th to the 15th December onboard the Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas out of Sydney.

Payment plans are also available for the retreat. You can find all the details at www.writersatsea.com.au

Some of you may notice that the newsletter looks a little different to the last one we sent out. That’s because we’ve changed systems. If you receive multiple copies we’d would appreciate you unsubscribing from the extras. We have to pay per email so removing the duplicate copies will help us keep costs down.
