  Thank
You!

Thank you everyone!

It's that time of year again.  Christmas is upon us and no doubt the busyness of the festive season will be enjoyable, if not a little tiring.
Please remember what Christmas is all about.  The tinsel and turkey can avert our eyes from the One who came to save us from our sins, Jesus Christ.   That baby whose birth we remember at Christmas time, we are told in Matthew’s Gospel 1:21
She [Mary] will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
Mission International says a huge thankyou to you for your faithful prayer and financial support throughout another year.  We like you are also thankful for Gods gift to all of us, The Lord Jesus Christ, because only in Him can we find eternal peace, not just peace at Christmas time.

Myanmar

As conflict continues in the Middle East and Ukraine . We are reminded of other areas in the world where conflict has continued. In particular the country of Myanmar where so much atrocity, conflict and persecution continues. It seems the world has forgotten Myanmar. MI are keen to express that despite the major issues going on in Myanmar many are still being reached with the Gospel. Our Partner and his teams do amazing work in this country and many people have been reached with the Gospel.  Please continue to pray for the continued protection of our Partner and for Believers in this Myanmar. Pray for peace in this nation.

Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
MI have been working with a Pastor in the DRC who works in a very difficult environment and is always changing especially when there is significant fighting. He with many Congolese take refuge in a southern Uganda refugee camp as they take up what little they have and run.  The Pastor is back and forth.
MI are currently looking at how to fund longer term projects with an eventual building many months down the line. It is hoped we can build a Centre to support women who have been caught up in the dark side of war in Africa. They have been abused and raped, not just by one army or rebel group, but by many and dumped like rubbish and most are left pregnant and destitute. So the centre would be used to help them return from refugee camps, help them recover as much as possible and provide training so that they can learn new skills to look after themselves and their children and give them work opportunities in the longer term. The Centre would also be a place where the children would begin to have an education. It is difficult to understand what life is like in such uncertainty and chaos. Please pray for the long-term plans and for it to come to fruition.
But as always the case, they have the immediate needs in the camps which are not always providing the simple needs of life to those who are fleeing.  Things like clothes, tents, blankets and
food , especially in the now arrived rainy season are desperately needed. Please pray for this desperate situation and for the longer term plans that are being put into motion. If you would like to contribute towards this then please donate on line :-

Displaced people in DRC hit by storms:

The image above shows the plight of those running from war in their villages.   The rudimentary camps are unable to cope with the numbers and when storms hit their tents are destroyed or blown away.  This is the rainy season and so shelter in urgent and crucial.

Malawi

Difficulties in this country still exist with many people displaced and homeless due to the aftermath of damage caused by Cyclone Freddy. Resultant of this devastation has resulted in many deaths and orphans who have been left to fend for themselves. Our MI Partner in Malawi is very much at the “coalface” and has requested help in providing support for the many children who have found themselves in such desperate situations. Please remember Pastor Elton in the work that he is doing and please pray for the provision of all the needs that are required. If you would like to contribute towards this then please donate on line :-

Freddy’s Orphans:

Cyclone Freddy has left many orphans like the lad in the image above, found wandering around by MI partner Pastor Elton.  He already seeks to support around 500 orphans
