From airport to downtown 

The hotel doesn’t provide a shuttle service. Taxi, Uber, Lyft and other rideshares are all excellent options. Click here for more information. Depending on traffic, it’ll take 15-30 minutes to get downtown. A taxi will cost around $30-40.

Know what to pack

The weather forecast for the congress dates looks warm, sunny and mainly dry. You can expect daytime temperatures around 81ºF / 27ºC and evenings cooling off to 54 ºF / 12ºC. Though it may be warm outside, we recommend wearing long-sleeves to the congress as the meeting space is airconditioned. Click here for detailed forecast.

AT THE CONGRESS

Registration

Bring one piece of official photo ID to collect registration materials on your first day at the congress. 

If you are participating in one of the pre-congress symposia, please collect your registrations at our temporary registration desk in front of the Hill Country rooms (lobby level) as of 7:15am.

The permanent registration desk is located in the Zilker building, located on your left when leaving the hotel lobby and will open at noon on Saturday.

Service Hours

Conference meeting room layout

The meeting rooms are distributed amongst two area. The lobby level of the hotel (to your right) and the Zilker Ballroom building which is located to the left of the hotel when exiting. It only takes one minute to walk from one to the other.

Speaker Ready Room

The Speaker Ready Room is located in room Big Bend A on the hotel lobby level. Presenters are requested to upload their final presentation PPT at least 2 hours prior to their presentation.

Poster Session / Poster Set-up

Posters shall be installed in the Exhibit Hall in Zilker 1-2. Poster presenters should respect the following times:

Mounting Time: Sat, March 25 - 16:30-17:30

Poster Session: Sat, March 25 - 18:00-19:00

Removal:  Mon, March 27 - 15:45-17:00

APPENDIX 1 - SOCIAL AND NETWORKING EVENTS

Join us at the Opening Ceremony as we officially kick off IPTA 2023 and set the tone for four days of scientific exchange and social networking. CareDx is hosting the Patient Voices, an interview-style activity with patients and caregivers.

The Welcome Reception & Poster Session is the perfect opportunity to mix and mingle with old acquaintances, and to make new connections. Make sure to visit and exchange with the poster presenters, and cast your vote for your favorite poster in the “People’s Choice Awards” competition.

Women in Transplantation (WIT) Networking Breakfast

Women in Transplantation (an Initiative of TTS), in partnership with IPTA, invite ALL IPTA participants to a special networking breakfast where Prof. Mignon McCulloch will talk about her inspiring global career in pediatric transplantation. The WIT breakfast is not just for women but all IPTA participants are invited.  

Our local host Chesney Castleberry looks forward to taking like-minded running aficionados and newcomers alike out for a run! Enjoy running along the Ann & Roy Butler Hike & Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake - a lush, urban path that meanders along the water’s edge and passes by skyscrapers, neighborhoods, ball fields and cultural attractions.

If running isn’t your thing, maybe starting your morning with a gentle yoga routine will get your day off to a great start. The beautiful view over Ladybird Lake and the Austin downtown skyline is an added bonus! You will want to snap a photo or two while you are at it.
