  January  2019 NEWSLETTER

Welcome to another Year of Landcare

I hope every one of you had as relaxing and long a break as I did. The only spoiler has been the weather. January is now the driest ever recorded in Ballina with 2mm rain at the airport. Since the BOM started collecting records in 1896 only 1912 and 1932 were anywhere near this and they were 16 and 16.5mm.

It is sad to see the local natives plants showing such severe signs of stress with nothing to be done but play the waiting game.

There should still be plenty for us to do though so collect your working gear, hat and water bottle and see you this Wednesday sown at Kelly’s dunes!  Don’t forget to plan on a coffee afterwards as well so we can all catch up open the holiday stories.
