A monthly newsletter of honors and accomplishments
August 2019

UCSF Medical Center was ranked 7th best hospital in the U.S. in the 2019-2020 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals Survey. Many DOM divisions’ specialty ranking contributed significantly to our health system’s overall success (our divisions make up 8 of the 17 specialties that are ranked) — particularly diabetes and endocrinology (#3), geriatrics (#5), nephrology (#6), rheumatology (#7), pulmonology (#8), GI (tied #11), and cancer (tied #12). See the announcement here.

Welcome to our new DOM faculty members! There are 103 of them, with 66 based at UCSF Health, 17 at ZSFG, and 20 at the VA. Our new faculty are a vital source of energy and innovation, and we are confident that they will take UCSF and our department to even greater heights. See the list of new faculty and orientation dates here.

If you are a new or second-year faculty member who has never attended a DOM orientation, please attend one of the New Faculty Orientation sessions listed below. For more information, contact Aaron Tabacco, our new DOM Staff and Faculty Experience Specialist.
