Save the Date: Higher Education Summit 2020 (#HES2020) 31 August - 2 September 2020, Berne, Switzerland How can we assure quality and transformative learning for sustainable development? We invite lecturers and researchers at higher education institutions, experts in professional development in higher education, managers of higher education institutions, experts in quality assurance, student activists, and civil society actors to save the date for a thought-provoking international event in Berne, Switzerland, from 31 August – 2 September 2020. The event is co-organised by the > COPERNICUS Alliance, > saguf, the > University of Bern, the > University of Lausanne and > td-net. The first day will feature the joint td-net and TA-Swiss annual ITD-CH conference, as well as other parallel meetings of the various networks that will be convening. The second and third days will consist of a jointly developed programme. > Read more
Einladung zu einer Fachtagung 24. März 2020, Technische Universität Berlin, Deutschland Die Fachtagung "Transdisziplinarität als institutionelle Herausforderung für Universitäten" richtet sich an Personen, die sich über Erfahrungen mit der Institutionalisierung von TD in universitären Strukturen austauschen bzw. sich über entsprechende Möglichkeiten und Herausforderungen informieren möchten. Herzlich willkommen sind ausserdem Vertreterinnen und Vertreter von Fördermittelgebern oder Stiftungen bzw. von Bundes- oder Landesministerien, die entsprechende Initiativen von Universitäten unterstützen. Die > Anmeldung steht ab dem 15. November 2019 online zur Verfügung, mit der Möglichkeit, Erfahrungen auf einem Poster im Format "Marktplatz" darzustellen.

NEWS FROM THE COMMUNITY Neues Karriereförderungsinstrument Im Rahmen eines einjährigen Pilotprojekts will der > SNF mit Practice–to–Science-Beiträgen die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der anwendungsorientierten Forschung fördern. Die Beiträge richten sich an Expertinnen und Experten mit ausgewiesener Praxiserfahrung, die als Assistenzprofessorin/-professor an eine Fachhochschule oder Pädagogische Hochschule zurückkehren möchten. Es handelt sich um befristete Anstellungen mit Qualifikations- bzw. Entfristungsmöglichkeit. Die erste Ausschreibung von Practice-to-Science erfolgt Mitte Januar 2020. > Mehr erfahren

Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Research in Social Sciences The International Social Science Journal is calling for papers for a special issue on inter- and transdisciplinary research in Social Sciences. This issue focuses on what can be learnt from the collaborative experiences, case studies and practices regarding wider societal transformation, methodological innovations and theoretical development. Authors will specifically search for “sites for change” in terms of spaces, practices and learnings where transdisciplinary research and co-production play a crucial role. > Read more
Project grants for pluri-disciplinary teams in international studies The > Swiss Network for International Studies (SNIS) offers project grants for pluri-disciplinary teams in international studies according to the following definitions: Research in international studies concerns issues that are pluri-disciplinary, relevant to the international agenda, and for which international cooperation is required to produce policy-relevant outputs. Investigated issues may combine political, economic, social, environmental, historical, legal, health, scientific, and development dimensions of complex societal questions.
