Know what to pack

Vancouver in May is quite reliable in its mild temperatures and rain. The average maximum daytime temperature is 17ºC / 64ºF. In May, Vancouver has rain about 13 days out of 31 so come prepared with your umbrella, layered clothing and waterproof footwear. Daytimes can be warm but evenings can still be chilly.

From airport to downtown by public transportation

Canada Line (by TransitLink) is a rapid transit rail link connecting YRV to downtown Vancouver in 26 minutes. The fare is approx. $9.

If you are arriving from within Canada, go to Level 3 and walk toward the Link Building. Just follow the signs marked Canada Line.

If you are arriving from the USA or from an international destination, walk towards the exit to the International Arrivals Greeting Area, exit the building following signs marked Canada Line. Before the parkade entrance, an escalator and elevator will take you up to the Canada Line platform (SkyTrain).

You get off the train at Waterfront (last stop). If you have light luggage, you may enjoy walking along the water front to the hotel (about 1km). Alternatively, we suggest you take a short taxi ride from the station.

Before entering the Fare Paid Zone, pay for your ticket at the ticket vending machines. These machines accept coins and bills (up to $20), debit and credit cards.

From airport to downtown by taxi

Taxis can be found outside of arrivals. The Westin Bayshore is located 14.8 km (9.2 miles) from the Vancouver International Airport. The approximate cost of a taxi from the airport to downtown Vancouver is 35 Canadian Dollars.

If you are staying at the Westin Bayshore, you will find taxis regularly waiting for you at the hotel entrance. If not, let a bellman know and they will have a taxi for you shortly.
