A TRANSITION YEARBecause of the IRS tax law changes we detailed in a previous newsletter, this has been a transition year for our entire team. And yet, despite the tax law changes that have come in the middle of our program year, we have funded nearly every school for the Fall 2019 semester. In the last week, we held a conference call with the few remaining schools to update them on our progress and give them a timeframe when they could expect to receive their scholarship funds.
SOUTH CAROLINA CORPORATION OUTREACHWe have many loyal individual donors, but the IRS changes now give an advantage to businesses far more than the advantage for most individual donors. Therefore, we have now adjusted our fundraising model to focus on partnerships with the South Carolina business community. In fact, we’ve had donation conversations with some of the state's largest companies and are working with them to take advantage of tax credits that not only help them, but more importantly, that strengthen the scholarship program for your students. |
