Boris Enters No.10
After months of infighting Boris Johnson has finally been 'crowned' as new leader of the Conservative party. Few Prime Ministers are ever universally popular and Boris is surely no exception. There are some who question whether he has the necessary skills and diplomacy to be successful in this high office.
Indeed, in one sense voting amongst the Conservative party membership appeared to echo the US election, where President Trump was not particularly popular... but he just happened to be more popular than Hilary Clinton. Whilst Boris undoubtedly has his quota of enthusiastic supporters, its reasonable to say there are many doubters on the opposite side too!
Road to Brexit
Of course, whilst Boris relishes being in the headlines, it has not always been for the right reasons. His ready smile for the media belies a ruthless streak and his pro-Brexit cabinet reshuffle has already demonstrated he is far from timid when it comes to ruffling a few feathers.
The road to Brexit is going to be a rocky one and it is hard to argue against the fact that a no deal exit is now a greater possibility than ever before. This has fuelled a further drop in the value of the pound but conversely, it is interesting to note that markets have generally responded in a more positive fashion.
Following months of negativity and uncertainty (across all factions of the political spectrum) the country perhaps needs to unite behind our new Prime Minister! And though Boris himself admits to hyperbole on occasions perhaps is just possible that we can become a Britain that is clean, green, prosperous, united, confident and ambitious!!
This summer has been an extremely busy and exciting one at Integra, following the recent acquisition of many clients from an advisor practice based in Hertfordshire.
Phil Melville and Jean MacIntyre have managed the Argyle Financial Group for some 30 years and as friends (and former colleagues) of Integra our respective businesses have shared many common principles.
We therefore welcome the former Argyle clients who have moved across and as Phil and Jean head off to enjoy a well-earned retirement, we thought you might like see to a video clip showing their recent visit to the Citywire London offices, where they took time out to reflect on a successful partnership and discuss the timing behind their decision.
Please click here to watch the Ciywire interview with Argyle on You Tube.
We are always keen to hear your views. Please visit www.integrafinancial.co.uk or email firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know if you think we should do anything differently.
