Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Community Members:

I hope you are enjoying your summer and are able to spend time with your friends and family.  There are some important items coming up that I want to bring to your attention.

Anti-Bullying Event

Billings Public Schools takes bullying very seriously and we work very hard to prevent bullying.  I hope you can join us at Rimrock Mall as we Stand Against Bullying on Saturday, August 8th, from noon-4pm, for an anti-bullying teen block party.

There will be live music from local musicians, games, food, fashion, prizes, and most importantly we will be handing out anti-bullying and suicide prevention resources to teens. Join us to hear local teen Silke Adams share her story about how bullying impacted her life and how Words Hurt. Let’s kick-off the back-to-school season right and give our area youth the tools needed to Stand Against Bullying for the upcoming school year.

New Immunization Laws

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services have announced that the immunization requirements for school-aged children have been changed.  The 2015 Legislative session added two more vaccines that students need for school attendance.  The law goes into effect on October 1, 2015.

I have included a letter that explains the change in more detail.  The attachment also includes a schedule of RiverStone Health’s Back to School Immunization Clinic hours.  We will update you with more information as it becomes available over the next few days and weeks.

Thank you,

Terry Bouck
