NEWS FROM THE COMMUNITY Call for abstracts The Leibniz Research Alliance is hosting an international conference entitled > Breaking the Rules! Energy Transitions as Social Innovations. The conference will take place on 14 and 15 June 2018 at Berlin Social Science Center (WZB). The session "Social innovations in energy transition through transdisciplinary
research" aims at elaborating experiences, potentials but also
shortcomings of transdisciplinary research approaches in the context of
energy transitions. It welcomes contributions of ongoing and finished
projects and provides a platform for success stories, failed stories and
open questions. With respect to the topic of the conference, the
organisators are especially interested in contributions in the social

EASST 2018 Conference: Call for papers At this year’s meeting of the European association for the study of
science and technology (EASST) in Lancaster (25-28 July), contributors
from science and technology studies, transdisciplinary studies, and
related fields are invited to join the panel “Co-Creation of Legitimacy,
Legitimacy of Co-Creation - Double Remedy or Double Crisis?”. The panel discusses how co-creation is
transforming or perpetuating legitimacy crises in academia and
