In just over 1 month, I will be resigning my position at Common Vision. First let me say “Thank you" to each one of you. Whether you are a supporter, a volunteer, a student, an administrator, a donor, a member of our staff, or part of a partnering organization, you have shaped the work of Common Vision, the work that I’ve had the privilege of doing for these 13 years. I am incredibly proud of all we have accomplished and built as a community in that time. It has been truly awesome to work with each of you to pioneer new ways to connect young people with environmental and social stewardship through the lens of food, and to be part of bringing the food movement from its seed state to the broad appeal it has today. Thank you!
As Michael continues to foster Common Vision, I am supremely confident that the organization will continue to be a leader not only in school gardens and the environmental movement, but also in the experiences it offers young people and the ways it brings people together. Common Vision is more than an organization, it is a community of stakeholders that offers young people the opportunity to grow into change-makers. In my 13 years here, Common Vision has fostered this change for hundreds of volunteers, well over 100,000 students, and for me.
As we grow our network of schools in the coming years, Michael, TJ, Ray, and Paul will continue to foster the seeds this community has sewn. I couldn’t imagine a better team for the work ahead. With your continued support, an ever increasing number of kids will have the opportunity Common Vision provided me to grow as a person and to connect with the natural world through food. To all of you whom I’ve gotten to know through Common Vision, I cannot thank you enough for the time we’ve shared and I can’t wait for the next time our paths cross. Working together we can make the future better!
Onwards,
Leo C. Buc
