The Seqirus session was well presented with good visual "hands-on" content, a version of which we will use to empower our teams moving forward. Many thanks for providing an excellent forum for CI / Ops Excellence." Leon Thebus, CI Coordinator, B&D Doors

Branach - Lean Assessment - VIC - 20/04/17

"Participating in the Lean Audit of Branach gave me a great insight into their inner processes and future goals. Using the audit I believe both Branach and the participants greatly benefited from the observations allowing both parties to take home invaluable information. I especially enjoyed touring the factory floor and interacting with the staff to learn the lean principles that have flowed throughout the business. Events like this are a must if you wish to progress both your business as well as your individual lean knowledge." Damian Cattenazzi, Production Engineer, Chemring

Leica Biosystems - Metrics that Matter, Are We Winning? - VIC - 02/05/17

“A great event at Leica, and I was especially interested about how they integrated Associate Engagement into their core values. So many organisations talk about it, and it was great to see it applied in a practical tangible sense through metrics, tools and activities.“ Mark Cvek, Finishing Manager, Horizon Global

Bluescope - Flexible Manufacturing at Bluescope - NSW - 04/05/17

"The workshop was very interactive and provided a great platform for networking amongst CI practitioners. The site tour was a highlight of the visit. It’s amazing how their relentless pursuit of customer service has transformed their organisation to become highly flexible and agile. The key take-away for me is their ability to bring about positive culture change with a fail-fast mentality. We all came away with some learnings and in return, provided feedback on improvement opportunities for the site.” Kevin Leung, National CI Manager, Parmalat

For conference details go to AME Boston |
|
Each year we host a group of 10 Australian and New Zealand
manufacturing practitioners on a benchmarking tour of some of North America’s
best Lean organisations. This is timed to coincide with the North American Association
for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) Annual Conference in Boston, where up to 2,500 practitioners will gather for 5 days of Lean Learning and
Networking.
"I
attended the AME Dallas conference on two counts, firstly to meet a long term
professional objective of getting to a US AME conference and secondly I was
looking for "my why" as to why I've had many more failures than
successes with implementing change and improvements, especially with why staff
do not take up and run with "obvious" improvements.” Peter Ballas, Head of Operations, Note Printing

Best Practice Network Bike Group Weekend Cruise to Walhalla, Victoria, 18-19 March 2017
|
 |
 |

|
|
By Will Day, Leica Biosystems The BPN Motorcycle Club went on its first
overnight excursion for the year on the 18th & 19th
of March.
The morning was an easy warm-up ride
through the hills towards Mirboo North where we stopped for lunch. From there, the group headed off to the overnight stop in Walhalla.
The final run into Walhalla was terrific –
great scenery and just enough tight corners to make things interesting. It was beer o’clock in Walhalla and the group
settled in the garden of the pub for a relaxing afternoon.
The group headed home the next afternoon, capping off a simply excellent weekend – terrific
riding roads, great company and well organised overnight accommodation. |
