  October 2016  NEWSLETTER
Anne Perry
Greetings this Autumn / Fall!

Welcome to the latest newsletter.

There have been a number of interesting, major changes in the world, since my last newsletter.  Most was the decisive vote for #Brexit in the United Kingdom.  Significant for the result and the record amount of people who actually turned out to vote.

In the US, we have now seen all three presumptive presidential debates.  Whatever you may think, politics is definitely garnering our attention.  I like to watch these events unfold and consider how would my character or characters behave in a similar situation?  How would a different time zone influence behaviour, for example?

There are many things you can study about people to help inform your characters.  Imagine your setting, location and environmental impact on their behaviour and decisions?  How would it affect your other characters?

It’s tremendous fun thinking about fictional scenarios for your characters.

Love,

Anne

A Christmas Message
A Christmas Message

Christmas 1900.

Victor Narraway, Thomas Pitt's former boss and his new wife Vespasia are on holiday in Jerusalem.  Although enjoying their time together and the interesting people they meet, Vespasia soon becomes concerned that someone is watching their every move.

When one of their new acquaintances is found murdered, the only clue is a mysterious piece of parchment written in a foreign tongue, and a message imploring Narraway to continue the stranger's quest.  Sensing its importance, Narraway and Vespasia decide to fulfil their dead friend's wish.

Continuing to Jerusalem with the parchment in hand, they quickly find themselves embroiled in danger.  With Vespasia's fears suddenly realised, and a watcher on their trail, will Narraway and Vespasia's fates follow that of their friend or can they make it to the Holy Land unscathed?  A Christmas Message is the tantalising new festive tale from the pen of Anne Perry, the master of Victorian crime.

How To Promote Your Book

My UK PR and long term friend Diane Hinds has just published a pocket guide to running your own campaign.  It is aimed at independent writers and looks at what needs to be considered such as research, target audience and key messages - very important in public relations.  It is available now on Kindle and Lulu.
