These awards are allocated to young scientists currently enrolled as a graduate student or receiving training as a post-doctoral fellow within 5 years of receiving his/her
PhD, MD or MD/PhD degree, at the time of application. Mentee must be conducting basic science/laboratory research, and be the first and presenting author of a submitted abstract (either oral or poster) at the TSS 2015 Symposium.

These awards are allocated to any TTS member, who has submitted an abstract and is currently enrolled as a young investigator OR a trainee OR allied health professional OR be a resident of one of the TTS’s
Emerging Economy Nations. As such, must be an investigator under 45 years of age OR within two (2) years of completion of their training and/or fellowship OR able to demonstrate proof of their AHP status OR resident in Emerging Economy Nation.

This session presents the very latest in the exciting new technologies in gene editing modification and therapies.

Professor Joe Tector will present his ground-breaking data on large animal gene editing of multiple genes that limit xenotransplant using the revolutionary Crispr -Cas9 system. Professor Ian Alexander will present work on the incredible promise of gene therapy using AAV and retroviruses to deliver therapeutic genes and potentially correct abnormal genes including his new work on gene delivery to the liver. Professor Shane Grey will present work on the potential of mutations in the graft to either protect or promote immune injury and potential therapeutic possibilities that arise from his novel discoveries in the A20 and NFKb pathways. 

 
 
 
 
The Congress Organisers have organised  optional coach transfers for the Symposium departing from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport (MEL) and Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) to Lorne on November 11, and returning to MCEC at the conclusion of the Symposium.

Should you be coming in earlier, or traveling within Australia, you may select to be picked up in the City at the MCEC on the morning of November 11.
