Domain names

Members of the food industry can now increase their online visibility by tailoring their domain names to their specific area of expertise such as .pizza, .coffee or .beer.  This new initiative can help businesses boost their online presence as well as help consumers to find their product more easily.  Read more


European Commission to tackle unfair practices in the food supply chain

In July the Commission announced it would be encouraging Member States to improve protection of small food producers and retailers against the unfair practices of their sometimes much stronger trading partners.  Read more


Zero-hours contracts

There has been an awful lot in the news about zero-hour contracts recently and the issues relating to it.  Statistics estimated there to be 1.4 million contracts which did not guarantee a minimum number of hours of work in January 2014. In this article, we highlight some new clauses which have been added to the Employment Rights Act 1996 to allow the Secretary of State to make further regulations relating to anti-avoidance issues.  Read more
