Consumer Rights Act 2015 Almost every consumer transaction that takes place in England and Wales will be affected by the new Consumer Rights Act 2015 which will come into force in October. It is the most extensive consumer law reform in the UK for a generation. Read more Tender Evaluations: transparency, equality and manifest error The High Court recently handed down a judgment on an action brought by unsuccessful tenderer Woods Building Services to challenge a public procurement exercise conducted by Milton Keynes Council. The High Court held that the Council made various manifest errors in its evaluation of the tender and there were certain breaches of the principles of equality and transparency. Read more Government set to recruit businesses to assist in its ongoing battle with modern slavery The Modern Slavery Act was granted royal assent on 26 March 2015. Amongst other things, the Act will establish an Anti-Slavery Commissioner, consolidate trafficking and slavery offences and make provision for protection for the victims of modern slavery.
