Bulletin Issue 20 : May 2017
This Month : Game Change

Welcome to our May Integra Bulletin!

Dear Client.

We hope this bulletin will keep you up-to-date with topical financial matters that can directly affect you… and your money!

Game Change - but will the election produce a better Brexit?

Theresa May has made a surprise call to hold a snap General Election on June 8th with the hope of giving her a far larger majority and the intention of allowing her to negotiate a better Brexit for Britain.

Just when the hysteria which surrounded our lives following Brexit and the election of Donald Trump seemed to be settling down and our respective economies were starting to move gently forward again.

The Prime Ministers vision for Britain is slowly coming into focus. Her Britain is a Britain of solid values and rooted certainties, hard work and upward mobility. A Britain where people try to get ahead but also have time for the less fortunate.

Once more there is a promise to right so may wrongs if only we give them our trust.

Market Commentary - UK Economic Picture Darkens

Retail prices fall

Last week saw another piece of poor economic data for the UK: retail sales slowed 1.4% quarter on quarter.

We have also seen two consecutive months of decline in the index of production, whilst inflation is over the Bank of England’s target, with the potential for further rises to come.

Exports have fallen the last two months despite sterling’s weakness.

This is how economic cycles end: a steady drip of poor data points until the overall picture changes. However, with employment still robust, there is still the hope that this is just a temporary slowdown.

Keeping your Will up-to-date

Your Will

With property prices moving relentlessly upwards then together with other investments and pensions most of us are now relatively wealthy in terms of potential Inheritance Tax liability. It is therefore vital you take a moment to check that you do actually have a current, relevant Will in place and that those people who might be affected are aware of where that Will resides.

Dealing with the death of a loved one is difficult enough, without having to sort out finances, so please look into your own situation.

We will of course be pleased to assist, if there are any issues about which you are uncertain.
