External Side - Sulphur particles were venting from the Exhaust Stack, along with the dew at night creates Sulphuric Acid on the external roof side. This in turn caused pitting and holes in the surface which drastically reduced the Vacuum within the unit and ultimately destroyed the efficiency.
Internal Side - An Erosion / Corrosion protection was required against Sea Water service along with 70°C (158°F) of continuous temperature. During the major outage, the facility wanted to repair all these weak areas with a Cold Rebuilding System because Hot Work was not an option due to the presence of Rubber Lining inside which could be damaged by any hot work / welding. After the Cold Repair work was carried out, the perfect protective coating was also required which can withstand Mild Sulphuric Acid phenomena and atmospheric conditions.
