President's Message

This month is set to be a really exciting month for us.

The wait is finally over, and we're ready to make history at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. In Joseph, Zheng Wen and Ting Wen, we have three world-class swimmers that have and will continue to do the nation proud. They've been training extremely hard, and i look forward to see them take on the world and achieve greatness. Their passage to Rio wouldn't have been possible without extremely strong support from the aquatics fraternity, and for that, i'd like to thank everyone that has played a role in their remarkable journey.

As we all get excited about the Olympics, we must use this as an opportunity to motivate our other athletes and also to encourage junior athletes at schools level to join the fraternity and push to participate in aquatic disciplines at club or national level. July had seen students of all ages perform remarkably well across different competitions - ASEAN University Games, ASEAN School Games, International Children's Games, National Schools and POL-ITE water polo competition. This is extremely encouraging for aquatics in Singapore as we strive to be amongst the top 4 in Asia across every discipline.

We're now all set for an extremely busy five months ahead with preparations for the FINA/Airweave Swimming World Cup presented by Yakult, FINA Diving Grand Prix, the inaugural SSA Annual Fundraiser and the Asian Swimming Championships, which will see our national athletes compete in Japan across all four disciplines. We're also set to see our young swimmers represent Singapore in the Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Hawaii. We wish all our athletes the every best in their training and competitions.

On behalf od the Executive Committee, we look forward to working with you closely over the next few months, and thank you once again for your continued support. Have a wonderful August, and enjoy your National Day celebrations.
