U Change: new call!
Do you have a project idea for more sustainability? The funding program U Change supports innovative student projects for sustainable development. Under the last call for proposals, seven promising projects have been approved for funding. The current call closes on 28 February 2019. Swiss Inter- and Transdisciplinarity Day 2018
With a focus on digitalisation, the Swiss Inter- and Transdisciplinarity Day 2018 brought together nearly one hundred people with different backgrounds and from various regions of Switzerland. Three captivating keynote speeches, twenty creative posters and three lively workshops offered fantastic inputs and a space for discussion about what digitalisation means for co-productive modes of research and teaching. NEWS FROM THE COMMUNITY Call for proposal – AIS 2019
From 24-26 October 2019, the annual AIS conference will be hosted for
the first time in Europe, by the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies
(IIS) at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), The Netherlands. The theme
of the conference will be ‘Interdisciplinarity in Global Contexts’.
Since a defining feature of interdisciplinarity is not to abstract or
isolate problems but rather to approach them in their real-world
contexts, this conference theme asks participants to consider the global
and local contexts of interdisciplinary education and research. The
program committee is looking for proposals that can start a debate,
encourage audience involvement and a lively dialogue with all

A new journal from Cell Press, One Earth publishes research
across the spectrum of natural, social, and applied sciences, with a
particular interest in integrated, transdisciplinary studies. The
published papers will provide insight into the drivers and scales of
environmental change, identify risks and implications for society, and
