Autumn Newsletter

Hello and welcome to our very first newsletter!

We are now in our third year of business and very pleased to say that we haven’t stood still and are always looking for ways to improve on the already high standards of the caravan site. Over the last 2 years we have had some terrific feedback on UKCampsite.co.uk  averaging a 9-out-of-10 rating since we opened for business. We would like to thank everyone that has taken the time to write a review  your feedback is essential so that we know what we need to do better.

One of our new features is the newly-mown path around the perimeter and central sections of the 5-acre field (pictured above). Children love this for bug-hunting and dog walkers love it because they can let their dogs off the lead when there are no other dogs about.

Our ethos is very much about working with nature and we have plans in place to encourage more wild flowers in the meadow and wildlife in the hedgerows. We already use green technology  a biomass boiler providing all of the hot water and heating for the whole site via district heating  and we have just been approved to install 96 field-mounted solar panels, which we plan to have up and running for next spring.

In this newsletter there is also news of our fire pit and themed weekends, details of our half-term break and special offers.

I hope you enjoy reading our newsletter and please feel free to forward this to a friend (via the link at the bottom on this e-mail. Or, if you would prefer to opt-out of any future e-mails you can unsubscribe instantly in just a click of the mouse  also at the bottom of this e-mail.

Fire Pit

New for the autumn is our fire pit, which we tested with a group of campers early in September. It was a roaring success! The fire pit is available for group evenings at no cost and wood can be purchased here  or bring your own.

The fire pit is well away from the main camping area and bookings are now being taken for its exclusive use.

We will also be using the fire pit for some of our themed weekends, including Halloween and Bonfire Night, which are detailed in this newsletter.

We take the safety of our guests very seriously, which is why children must be supervised at all times if they are at, or close to, the fire pit.
Themed Weekends

Halloween
This year we’re going to be celebrating Halloween on Saturday 1 November, rather than on the actual day to give people the chance to arrive on Friday 31 October and get settled in.

During the evening, for which fancy dress is optional, there will be the following:
∗ Fire pit
∗ Burgers & hotdogs in the log store
∗ Halloween punch

Bonfire Night
Celebrate Bonfire Night with us on Saturday 8 November, which includes:
∗ Bonfire in the fire pit
∗ Burgers & hotdogs in the log store
∗ Home-made punch & parkin
∗ Free sparklers for children
Half-Term Activities

For the forthcoming half-term holiday were planning a family rounders match and we have also planned a drumming evening around the campfire.

This is for children and adults, which take place on Saturday 25 October at 7pm. Craig Winterburn, an experienced drummer and teacher, will lead the event, which should be great fun for children and adults alike. Craig will bring a large selection of drums for people to borrow, but feel free to bring your own drums, triangles or tambourines

We also propose a Saturday morning teaching session for children so they can feel more comfortable taking part in the evening session.

The cost for this activity is £7.50 per adult and £3.00 for children  for both the day and evening sessions.
