Conference Keynote and Family Camp Speaker

Mark O. Wilson is author of Filled Up, Poured Out and serves as senior pastor of Hayward Wesleyan Church, a thriving missional congregation in Wisconsin's Northwoods. His new book, titled Purple Fish: A Heart for Sharing Jesus, is coming out in 2014.  Pastor Wilson has been widely used in our denomination as a camp and conference speaker and is a favorite “prof” in the FLAME ministerial training program.  It is a delight to have this winsome, contagious and effective communicator of the Gospel to minister again in our district!
Praises and Prayer Requests

  • Continue to pray for the Eden, Iglesia Amistad and Greenville First churches as they continue to implement the prescriptions from the recent consultations.  The past three months for the Eden Church have been filled with marvelous progress with increases in attendance and conversions.  Special prayer is requested for the pastor search process for Greenville First Church.  (The picture to the right is from the Service of Confession and Repentance for the Greenville First and Iglesia Amistad Wesleyana congregations.)
  • We give praise for God's call of church planters for North Charleston, Blaze and Allison Johnson and their three girls.  Pray for them as they relocate back to their home area this week and begin the process of establishing a new congregation.  Praise also for the support of the Celebrate Church in South Dakota which includes funding of the Johnsons’ salary for one year along with some additional seed money.
  • Praise for the great reports across the district from Easter Sunday: (last year)                       Primary Worship Attendance – 5,782 (5,246)                         10.2% Increase                                              People Saved – 101 (12)                                                            740.0% increase
  • Please be in prayer for District Conference, Family Camp, Youth Camps and Kids Camps this summer.

New Pastor at Welcome Wesleyan

Rev. Josh Ratliff began his ministry as the new Senior Pastor of the Welcome Wesleyan Church on February 1.  On April 27, he was officially installed.  On Easter Sunday they began a second worship service that has resulted in a steady flow of newcomers and increased attendance.  Pastor Josh is a graduate of Liberty University and Asbury Theological Seminary and came to us from the Indiana North District, but is orginally from Virginia.  We are blessed that they are a part of our SC District ministry team.  (PIctured above are Pastor Josh and Valerie and their daughters, Sadie and Macie.)
