ABOUT TD-NET Contribute to the International Transdisciplinarity Conference 2019 Joining Forces for Change! In line with the motto of the conference, which will take place in Gothenburg from 10 to 13 September 2019, we are inviting contributions from practitioners and researchers who are working in different types of collaborative research and change processes, to gauge the state of the art in both research and practice from across sectors and disciplines. Contributions can be made in the form of session, presentation, poster, installation, workshop, network event or open stage. Submissions from practitioners and from transdisciplinary teams are particularly welcome. > See the call for contributions > Submit your abstract until 24 March 2019
New in the td-net Toolbox: Theory of change
A theory of change (ToC) is a model of a change process. It provides a
description and explanation of how and why an activity or a set of
activities (such as a project or program) is expected to lead or
contribute to a process of change. A ToC is not a single theory but a
set of theories that describes and explains the multiple steps in a
change process. The approach recognizes that socio-ecological systems
are complex, and that causal processes are often non-linear with
multiple interactions and feedback loops. The method has been provided by > Rachel Claus & > Brian Belcher. > More information
Early career scientist transdisciplinary workshop This workshop is designed together with the team of Swiss TD-Net for late master students, PhDs and early PostDocs for learning and actively training interdisciplinary (ITD) and transdisciplinary (TD) methods. Applicants from every discipline that are familiar with challenges and finding solutions in food production systems (e.g. land scarcity, growing soil degradation, food safety, overexploitation of natural resources and higher ethical demands) or are interested in learning about it are eligible to apply. This workshop aims to enforce the participants ITD/TD understanding of real world problems and to teach valuable methods to pursue ITD/TD projects. It takes place from 6 to 7 May 2019 at the University of Bern. > Application and more information
